I’m in this picture.

I’ve had broad experience with creative teams, big and small. Served as a VP/Creative Director at Comedy Central and truTV. Successfully launched, built and distinguished brands. Have written, directed and produced—and have worked with talented people that do each or all of those three things.

The brands I’ve worked on have traded in humor. It’s not always time to laugh, but if there’s an opportunity for comedy, my anecdotal research finds that the product connects better. Having said that, if you’re launching the first content outlet based on abject sadness, I have to admit: I’m curious.

Below are some chapters in my career—in reverse—and what I learned from them:

truTV - How to use existing resources, digital and social content to help recreate a brand.

Comedy Central (management years) - How to make a culturally relevant brand work for paying partners (advertisers).

Comedy Central (earlier years) - How to forge a culturally relevant brand through promotion of legendary properties.

Cartoon Network - How to produce graphic/visual assets and write for efficiency and comedy.

MTV - How drive a truck, order food for large groups, use Excel and meet my wife.

NBC - How to access my humility.

Other things that come along with the combination of my professional moments are inspiration, encouragement, and development of staff; client collaboration; and celebrity talent management. These things have served me well outside of my career, too.
